DOUBLE PORTION OF A HARD THING

 OPENING PRAYER

Father, we thank you for this wonderful day, we thank you for everything particularly the gift of life. We bless your name for you are wonderful, also we thank you for this opportunity to hear your word, let there be light and let our faith cometh in the name of Yeshua.

Today we continue with our series DOUBLE PORTION and the topic is DOUBLE PORTION OF A HARD THING.

In 2 Kings 2 Elijah told Elisha to ask for what he wanted before he lives, and Elisha asked for double portion of Elijah’s spirit.

2 Kings 2:9

9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.

Elijah was surprised for what Elisha asked for, for he said “Thou hast asked a hard thing” for he never knew he could ask for that, so he said well it is now between you and God, if you see me when God comes for me you will get it but if not, you will not.

2 Kings 2:10

10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.

For Elijah thought that it is not possible to get double portion of his spirit. Lo and behold the chariot of fire came and separated them.

2 Kings 2:11

11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

But faithfully Elisha saw him, and he said I see you and he was able to get what he wanted.

2 Kings 2:12-13

12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.

13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;

And from that moment on everything changed for Elisha, and he could not be stopped, he could not be hindered even by Jordan.

2 Kings 2:14

14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Lord God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.

The honor of God came upon him and all that were mocking him in the beginning bowed for him.

2 Kings 2:15

15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

On that same page he healed the water of Jericho and remove curses from their land.

2 Kings 2:19-22

19 And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren.

20 And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.

21 And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the Lord, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.

22 So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake.

And on that same page he silenced permanently all his abusers, by feeding them to bears.

2 Kings 2:23-24

23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.

24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

To cut the whole story short Elisha was transformed and he performed twice as much as Elijah’s miracle in the Bible.

We too can get the double portion of the Lords spirits if only we can see Him.

And how do we see Him?

We see Him by faith.

When we pray, when we fast, when we study the word, in whatever we are doing we must do in faith, and we will get what we wanted.

Mark 11:23-24

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

When we do all these things we are beholding Him in our heart and as we are doing that we are gradually transforming into His image.

2 Corinthians 3:18

18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

But one key element to add to your faith is work for faith without work is dead.

James 2:26

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Let me explain, Elisha did not quit even when all other sons of the prophets quit. He persists.

3 times Elisha told him to tarry at the other side of the Jordan, but he refuses and get to the end of the show.

2 Kings 2:1-7

1 And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel.

And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.

And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.

And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.

And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the Lord hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on.

And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.

When you persist in prayer and do not give up you will one day get what you want for God is faithful.

Galatians 6:9

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Today, this week, and this month God is asking you to ask Him for a hard thing and you will get it.

Because he is the God of all flesh and there is nothing too hard for him.

Jeremiah 32:27

27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?

He said to Abraham concerning Sarah.

Genesis 18:14

14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

And He is the God of all possibilities for he makes the impossible possible.

Matthew 19:26

26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Today we need to ask from our Lord double portion of His spirit.

For everything is within His capacity of God.

Prayers:

Father, give unto me double portion of the anointing of Yeshua HaMashiach in the name of Yeshua.

Father, in the name of Yeshua double my anointing today.

Father, let me begin to enjoy high grace, love, mercy and favor in the name of Yeshua.

ALTAR CALL

First thing first you need to be born again if you are not or rededicate your life to Yeshua if you are not sure.

(Say this prayers).

Father in the name of Yeshua I confess that I am a sinner, and I repent of my sins, and I ask that you forgive me. I confess with my mouth that Yeshua is Lord, and I believe in my heart that he died for my sins and that Yahweh raised him from the dead. I declare that I will follow and serve Yeshua from now on and forever in the name of Yeshua. Amen!
