OPENING PRAYER

Father, we thank you for this wonderful day, we thank you for everything particularly the gift of life. We bless your name for you are wonderful, also we thank you for this opportunity to hear your word, let there be light and let our faith cometh in the name of Yeshua.

FOR HIS GLORY (2)

Today we continue where we stopped last week, introducing ourselves to the topic FOR HIS GLORY.

At the tomb of Lazarus, the death of four days rose again. Even Martha expresses her doubt to the Resurrection and the Life himself and the response she got was. “If you believe, you will see the glory of God.” Is all about the GLORY of GOD.

John 11:39-40

39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.

40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

Concerning that thing I encourage you to believe, and you will see the glory of God. And we all know the rest of the story. Death was defeated and God took all the glory.

John 11:41-44

41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

“Loose him and let him go.” Halleluyah!

What about the showdown at the red sea? The Israelite were sore afraid, and they murmured and complained. But God was not moved by their murmuring or crying, He told them to go forward even to the depth of unwavering sea, because I AM THE WAY.

Exodus 14:15

15 And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

Sometimes when the only option is to turn back, go forward in the name of Yeshua and THE WAY will make a way.

Moses who knows what God can do so he told them. “Fear not”

Exodus 14:13

13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

And that was exactly what happened. They see them no more. I don’t know about you, but I will see them again no more forever in the name of Yeshua.

I believe you know the rest of the story, eventually God took all the glory.

Exodus 14:14-28

14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

15 And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

19 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

23 And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the Lord looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,

25 And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the Lord fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

26 And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.

27 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

“There remained not so much as one of them.” Halleluyah!

For it is written “we will see them again no more”.

In the case of the Philistine, Dagon, the god of the Philistine was their fortress, as long as Dagon stands the Israelites cannot defeat the Philistine and God know this, so He decided to pay Dagon a visit, this is the war of God and gods.

The Lord sometimes fights some battles in a way that is not our way, in an unpleasant way but the end thereof is pleasant. There are some battles that God loses to win. No Israelite army on its own strength could have penetrated deep into Philistine land to install the ark inside the temple of Dagon. Only God could do such a thing, and he could do it without the help or assistance of any man.

The Philistine took and put the Ark of Lord beside their God, maybe to see which God is Supreme. In the temple of Dagon, strange things began to happen. I want you to see the whole event from the scriptures.

1 Samuel 5

1 And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer unto Ashdod.

2 When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.

3 And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the Lord. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.

4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

5 Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon’s house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.

6 But the hand of the Lord was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.

7 And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.

8 They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines unto them, and said, What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel? And they answered, Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about unto Gath. And they carried the ark of the God of Israel about thither.

9 And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the Lord was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.

10 Therefore they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our people.

11 So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.

12 And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry of the city went up to heaven.

So, imagine the dismay of Dagon’s priest when they entered and found that Dagon had fallen upon his face, bowing to the King of kings.

They quickly righted him as if nothing ever happened. And that was a greatest mistake, but Dagon was unable to tell them. “I bowed”.

The next morning, the same drama repeated itself, only this time Dagon did not just bow, but he was broken by the Lord of lords. He landed with such force that his head and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold.

Following the fall of Dagon, a plague descended on the Philistines. For seven months, they shifted the ark from one location to the next, without any remedy until they returned the Ark back to the Israelite, along with a guilt offering to make amends.

While the Israelite were defeated in battle, their God with no army brought the enemy to its knees and took all the Glory.

Do you think you are losing, after all the prayers and nothing is happening? Wait a little bit more and don’t give up. The glory will be restored, this time around is going to be His glory.

Finally, on this introduction David was chosen to defeat Goliath, the pairing looks foolish and that is the God we are serving.

1 Corinthians 1:27

27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

But know this that the foolishness of God is wiser than men.

1 Corinthians 1:25

25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

David has been with Lord, with the Lord he killed lion, with the Lord he killed bear, and he knows with the Lord he will kill Goliath.

He rejected the armor of Saul and took with him five stone and a sling and move in the name of the Lord and God that want to be glorified back him up.

Goliath was disappointed and cursed David by his gods, but David replied and said I come against you in the name of the Lord of host of Israel and here is the rest of the story.

1 Samuel 17:43-51

43 And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.

44 And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.

45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

46 This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

47 And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hands.

48 And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.

49 And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.

50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.

51 Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.

For his glory the leader of your enemies will bow in the name of Yeshua. Amen!

One interesting thing here is that Goliath was covered with shield all over but the slightest opening for vision in his forehead could not escape the stone of David, this is the hand of God He held the head and position it for the stone.

What are you going through today? Are you in a strong battle? Are you asking God, why He lets you pass through all you went through?

The answer is FOR HIS GLORY.

Prayers:

Father, for your glory call forth my buried virtues in the name of Yeshua.

Father, for your glory fight my battles in the name of Yeshua.

Father, for you glory proof yourself as the God of gods against the gods of my enemies in the name of Yeshua.

Father, for your answer me by fire in the name of Yeshua.

Father, for your glory fight my battles in the name of Yeshua.
