POWER (INTRODUCTION)

OPENING PRAYER

Father, we thank you for this wonderful day, we thank you for everything particularly the gift of life. We bless your name for you are wonderful, also we thank you for this opportunity to hear your word, let there be light and let our faith cometh in the name of Yeshua.

Our topic today is POWER, here we are going to introduce ourselves to power.

 POWER (INTRODUCTION)

Matthew 11:12

12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

That is to say from the day John the Baptist announces the coming of Yeshua HaMashiach Satan reinforces his agents against the believers making it more difficult to make heaven.

So, for a believer to make heaven you must be violent and forceful. In other words, you must be powerful.

The only language the kingdom of darkness understand is power and to survive in this life you need power, without power you will be wasted.

Psalm 66:3

3 Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.

And the ultimate source of all power is God.

Psalm 62:11

11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

After money power is the most sought-after thing in the world and those who are pursuing money will end up use the money to acquire power.

But for a believer it should be the other way round, seek God first.

 Matthew 6:33

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Then seek his power and his power will get you money.

Deuteronomy 8:18

18 But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

Wealthy nations today are striving to become superpower, more nations are seeking to acquire nuclear weapons just to become more powerful.

Men enters different kind of societies to get power. People practice divination, witchcrafts, familiar spirits, occults in order to survive.

And all these powers are limited to this universe. The ultimate power of God is unlimited, it is the one from above and this ultimate power controls all powers.

Our God is all powerful (Omnipotent) and not only so, but he is also all knowing (Omniscience) and he is everywhere every time (Omnipresence).

Omnipotent (All Powerful)

Revelation 19:6

6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

 Psalm 62:11

11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

 Matthew 28:18

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Omniscience (All knowing)

1 John 3:20

20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

Psalm 147:5

5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

Jeremiah 1:5

5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

 Omnipresence (All Presence)

Hebrews 4:13

13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Jeremiah 23:24

24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.

Psalm 139:7-12

7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

Isaiah 40:29

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Spiritual wars, cosmic wars are fought on energies (powers).

Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Power as complex as it is to explain, is very well understood by nearly every human being.

Power is in different shape, just like you will see a powerful boxer because he won many fights, so you will see a powerful president because he rules over a strong nation and a powerful car because is faster than others.

Power is so much contested for in every arears of life, from the womb to the family circle, from entertainment industry to sports, from politics to geopolitics and so on. Whosoever has the power controls the affairs of things. The reason men go to any length looking for power.

The world’s most powerful countries today are also the one dominating the news headlines, they are the policymakers and the controller of global economy. All these powers are limited to this earth.

The greatest power is the power of the Holy Spirit from Yeshua HaMashiach. This power is unlimited, all we need is to do his will, obey his commandment all this power will be ours.

Acts 1:8

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Satan and his agent have power too, but the good news is that Yeshua gave us power above the power of our enemies.

Luke 10:19

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Interestingly power cannot be enough, you increase in power as you keep growing in faith and no human on earth has all the power but Yeshua HaMashiach.

 Matthew 28:18

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Which made him superior to Satan who claim to have all the power here on earth.

Luke 4:6

6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

Now these two are the sources of men’s power, Yeshua has power in heaven and on earth and this power was given to him.

The meaning of to give is to freely transfer to believers, the power is freely transferred to Yeshua.

In the case of Satan, he has power only in this earth and he said the power was delivered to him. This is telling us that this power is not directly from God but from a postal agent (Adam and Eve) as he said.

“for that is delivered unto me” is the same as “for that is surrendered unto me.”

Satan and Yeshua both have a mission to accomplish, Satan came to steal, and Yeshua came to give. Satan stole from men (Adam) and Yeshua came to restored what is stolen.

John 10:10

10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Prayers:

I receive power to do all things in the name of Yeshua.

ALTAR CALL

First thing first you need to be born again if you are not or rededicate your life to Yeshua if you are not sure.

Father in the name of Yeshua I confess that I am a sinner, and I repent of my sins, and I ask that you forgive me. I confess with my mouth that Yeshua is Lord, and I believe in my heart that he died for my sins and that Yahweh raised him from the dead. I declare that I will follow and serve Yeshua from now on and forever in the name of Yeshua. Amen!
