Father, we thank you for this wonderful day, we thank you for everything particularly the gift of life. We bless your name for you are wonderful, also we thank you for this opportunity to hear your word, let there be light and let our faith cometh in the name of Yeshua.

WEEK OF GATHERING 2

 Third week is also the week of GATHERING.

 TOPIC: SPOILING THE SPOILERS

 Judges 6:1-10

1 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord: and the Lorddelivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.

2 And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds.

3 And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them;

4 And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.

5 For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it.

6 And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the Lord.

7 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the Lordbecause of the Midianites,

8 That the Lord sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;

9 And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drave them out from before you, and gave you their land;

10 And I said unto you, I am the Lord your God; fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but ye have not obeyed my voice.

The Midianites according to the above scriptures spoils the Israelites for seven years because they forsook God and seek after other gods.

But God in His infinite mercy and grace choses Gideon to deliver His chosen people.

Judges 6:11-16

11 And there came an angel of the Lord, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.

12 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.

13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

14 And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?

15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.

16 And the Lord said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.

Now God choses Gideon not by grace alone but God knows his heart that he will do His will.

Judges 6:17

17 And he said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, then shew me a sign that thou talkest with me.

In Judges 6:11 he is diligent and hardworking.

In Judges 6:13 he knows what God has done, and he knows what God can do.

In Judges 6:17-19 he offered sacrifices unto God.

In Judges 6:22-24 he believed and build and altar for God (Jehovahshalom).

In Judges 6:25-32 he is obedient, he threw down the altar of Baal and replaced it with the altar of the living God among many other things.

Though the enemies gathered against Israel, the Midianites joined by other nations were gathered against Israel.

Judges 6:33

33 Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of Jezreel.

But it does not matter because the Spirit of the Lord is upon Gideon.

Judges 6:34

34 But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered after him.

And remember greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.

1 John 4:4

4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

And in these battles, they that are with us are always more that they that are with them.

2 Kings 6:16

16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

And our armies are far superior to their armies, horses and chariots to horses and chariot of fire.

2 Kings 6:17

17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

And to cut the whole story short God reduces Gideon armies from 32,000 men to 300 men so they will know is not them that is fighting the battle but God (Judges 7:2-9).

Judges 7:2

2 And the Lord said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.

And Gideon and his men prevailed against their enemies with victuals, trumpets and a shout of “The sword of the Lord, and of Gideon,” and they spoil them.

Judges 7:20-22

20 And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The sword of the Lord, and of Gideon.

21 And they stood every man in his place round about the camp; and all the host ran, and cried, and fled.

22 And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the Lord set every man’s sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath.

As a genuine believer we too we are chosen and if we can come back to God we will obtain grace and mercy and if we believed and do as Gideon we will be delivered and deliver others.

1 Peter 2:9

9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

Prayers:

From henceforth I will no longer labor for others to eat, but I will eat the fruit of my labor in the name of Yeshua (Isaiah 62:8-9, Isaiah 65:22).

 In the name of Yeshua I pursues my enemies, I overtake them, and I recover all in the name of Yeshua (1 Samuel 30:8).

I decree civil war in the camp of my enemies, the Lord set every man’s sword against his fellow, even throughout all their host in the name of Yeshua (Judges 7:22).

All they that devour me are devoured, all my adversaries are captured, the Lord spoiled all they that spoil me and all that prey upon me were given for a prey in the name of Yeshua (Jeremiah 30:16).

ALTAR CALL

First thing first you need to be born again if you are not or rededicate your life to Yeshua if you are not sure.

Father in the name of Yeshua I confess that I am a sinner, and I repent of my sins, and I ask that you forgive me. I confess with my mouth that Yeshua is Lord, and I believe in my heart that he died for my sins and that Yahweh raised him from the dead. I declare that I will follow and serve Yeshua from now on and forever in the name of Yeshua. Amen!
